Yes! I am fully insured for the services I provide. While I treat every pet and home with the utmost care, insurance provides an extra layer of protection so you can feel confident knowing your pets and home are in caring, responsible hands.
-
Yes. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR, allowing me to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of an emergency while your pet is in my care.
-
Yes. I can assist with many routine medications during a drop-in visit. This includes pills, liquid medications, topical creams, ointments, and similar non-invasive treatments. I follow all instructions provided by you and your veterinarian to help ensure medications are given safely and consistently. While I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, I am not a veterinary professional and do not administer injections, including insulin or perform procedures that require veterinary training.
-
Yes! I care for pets who may require a little extra assistance, including those with sensory impairments, mobility changes, ongoing care routines, or those recovering from surgery or illness. I carefully follow the instructions provided by you and your veterinarian to help maintain your pet’s established routine, whether you’re away or just need someone to lend a helping hand.
Pet Care Basics
-
Services are available throughout the Greater Grand Rapids area. If you’re unsure whether you’re within my service area, please call or text (my number). I will be happy to confirm availability and discuss any applicable travel fees for your location.
-
Yes, when my schedule allows. I know how important it is to have someone you trust when plans change unexpectedly, and I strive to be a dependable resource you can count on. While advance booking is always recommended, especially for recurring services or holiday periods, I encourage you to reach out even if your need is on short notice. If I have availability, I’ll be happy to help!
-
To provide flexibility for all clients, visits are typically scheduled within a designated arrival window rather than at an exact time. However, if your pet has a medication schedule, a specific routine, or you simply need an exact arrival time, just let me know! I am happy to accommodate scheduled appointment times. We can discuss the best option for your pet during our meet-and-greet.
-
I understand that life happens and plans can change unexpectedly. If you need to cancel or reschedule a service, please provide as much notice as you can and I’ll do my best to work with you whenever possible. While I always do my best to be flexible, late cancellations and last-minute schedule changes may be subject to a fee, as outlined in the Service Agreement.
Booking & Scheduling
-
Yes. I provide updates throughout your pet’s visit so you can stay connected and feel reassured while you’re away. Updates may include photos, videos, and a personalized summary of your pet’s care during their time with me.
-
Your pet sets the pace for each visit. If they want to play, that’s great. If they’d rather relax quietly, that’s perfectly fine too! Every pet adjusts differently; therefore, I don’t rush or pressure interactions, allowing trust to develop naturally. If handling is necessary for their safety, health, or essential care, I will do so as calmly and gently as possible.
-
The most important thing is knowing about any behavioral concerns before services begin. Understanding your pet’s triggers, routines, and needs helps me provide safe and appropriate care. If at any point a behavior makes it unsafe to continue services, I will discuss the situation with you and determine the best path moving forward with your pet’s well-being as the priority.
-
Your pet’s safety always comes first. During periods of extreme heat, severe cold, ice, thunderstorms, or other hazardous weather, I may adjust the length, timing, or activities of a visit to keep your pet safe and comfortable. Any necessary changes will be based on weather conditions, your pet’s individual needs, and will always be communicated with you.
